Todays Hunt

All ready

So I got sighted in yesterday so I am ready for opening day.

We have been seeing more deer this year then normall so I should be able to get some meat.

I also have been seeing a BIG buck in the back feild but as we all know he will be hiding as soon as he hears the first shot. But maybe the first shot will be me shooting at him.

It does not look like they are in rut yet and I have not seen any rubs or scrapes so far but I have not spent allot of time looking due to the "I need this gun done before season" gun work. WHY does every one wait so long to get there gun fixed?.

But we do have some very big does this year.

I can not wait to opening day.

So Saterday night was a full moon but decided to go out anyway on Sunday and at 8am a big doe walked up and now she is going in the feezer. YEA!!!!! After fighting the wind all week it was calm and cold. Perfict for them to move. When I shot I saw a BUNCH of tails going in all directions.

Saturday Deer Hunt

Went deer hunting Saturday for only the second time this year. Not much luck only saw one small doe and I let her walk. It was still a good day. It was nice to be in the woods again. I’ll probably go a couple more times. Down here the season doesn’t end until February 10th

I am going out tomorrow and saterday looking for a buck that I have seen hanging out. Our season (Rifle) ends sunday then black powder starts.

No luck today

Lets take a look at the fact I was out on a day that was sub temps. blowing wind and snow squaws and I shot a 8 point now today it is 50+ degrees and no wind and sunny and all I see is tree rats.

Go figure.

Tough week

I’m trying to get wife to take her doe before I get my buck. Today was attempt #3. Nothing this morning, except a bobcat.

this afternoon was looking good. A quick scout around and we saw a herd of does headed our way about a mile out. We sat there hoping They would come in from the south. That didn’t play out as expected. Some yahoos on the neighbor land had a woman drive through our land trying to push towards their side on the south.

After the 3rd drive through my patience was wearing thin. That’s when I saw a doe 320 yards west and just the head was above the grass. She was facing towards us. Wife told me to try and see if I can get it since the day was ruined otherwise. I missed her but hit the dirt beside her and she took off.

right…

People can be a PIA when it comes to trespassing some just do not care how much they mess up other peoples hunt.
