Landlord asked how things are working out. I told him I was thinking of putting plastic in garage to act as a ceiling. He said why not insulate the walls and ceiling then cover with OSB? I can’t afford that. He said he will pay for it.
Then later he said something about the deck sagging. I told him it’s not up to National code, if it’s attached to house it needs to have posts set on concrete piling going below frost line. I mentioned other shortcomings. He asked why I know so much. Have I ever built a deck before? I showed him pictures of decks, sheds, and interior remodels I’ve done.
now I’m lined up to build a new deck, to my wants, and insulate-sheet the garage with additional LED lighting, ceiling fan and possibly natural gas heat.
on top of that I’m building a 6x10 utility trailer for us to haul motorcycles and crap. I’ll finally get to use the welder, torch and chop saw I inherited a couple years ago. In Minnesota privately owned trailers get permanent plates, no renewal each year
