Good friend recently acquired some guns. He is moving and asked me to keep his collection secure. One of them that he just got is a Savage-Stevens made Springfield Model 67C in .410
It is dirty and stiff but functions and shoots. The wood is decent but in need of strip and refinish. The metal has spots of surface rust, no pitting. Stamping is readable. I haven't taken it apart yet to look in bore. My favorite gunsmith isn't in his shop for me to ask how.
It may sound strange but I'm nterested in it for 2 reasons. First, it's a Savage. We all know my affection for Savage and/or Wards Western Field guns. Second, it's a .410. I have been wanting one for a while. If the stars all line up it just might find its way to Mike for refurbishing.
Based on the model suffix of C and a B348061 serial number can anyone tell its age?
