Vicky and I decided it was time to move closer to work. Sioux Falls is turning evil and violent. What we thought was supportive family and friends turned south.
We have been looking at houses in Pipestone MN but our finances aren’t ready for that just yet.
Last week we found a decent enough rental house with good sized garage for $500 month less than current. The owner decided to go with us instead of the many other applicants due to the rave reviews from references and work. Plus he is into guns and hunting. He took me to lunch Friday to celebrate and have a BS session. Nothing related to the rental agreevent.

Moving event was pure Hell. People who we thought were friends ended up being a no show. Thankfully 2 good friends came through Saturday afternoon. We got most of it all loaded up. Then I drove the U Haul truck 48 miles on ice with 30mph side winds. Vicky followed in the Trailturd and my best friend Rick brought up the rear in his Ram 1500. He was getting blown all around but Vicky stayed rock solid (studded snow tires).
once we got to the house Eric from work and his wife came to help unload. Then Sunday Vicky and I went back for my garage stuff with my Trailturd. Rick showed up with a trailer and we got a good load. That guy is a blessing. He drives an hour to old house, another hour to new house, then another hour back home, TWICE!
Vicky has been busy “nesting” while I do my best to help. Next weekend I’ve got a couple guys from work coming to help me organize garage.
Sorry I haven’t been on here much. Between work, moving and all my time has been thin. Now that my drive to work is 6 minutes with 1 stoplight and very light traffic life is so much better.
